In this thrilling new Night Rebel series set in New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress world, sexy and ruthless vampire Ian finally meets his match!

The Rule Breaker...

Master vampire Ian is unrepentant, shameless...and every shade of wicked. He's made one too many enemies in his two centuries of existence, including Dagon, a demon who now lays claim to his soul. Ian's only chance to escape Dagon is to join forces with a Law Guardian, but he's never been able to abide by the rules for long.

The Law Maker...

Veritas' normal role is police, judge, and jury to reprobates like Ian. But she has her own ax to grind with Dagon, so if she can use Ian as bait...well, all's fair in law and war. As they scour supernatural hotspots to perfect their trap, Veritas soon realizes Ian's carefully cultivated, devil-may-care roguish image hides something much more powerful. And Ian discovers Veritas has shocking secrets of her own. As they're drawn to each other with a passion as intense as their peril, either love or justice will prevail. But each will have devastating consequences.

In the first of a new spin-off of Frost's Night Huntress series, Tavia Gilbert's narration magically transports the listener to a modern-day world filled with vampires, demons, and other supernatural beings. Master vampire Ian teams up with an ancient vampire called the Law Guardian Veritas to break the demon Dagon's claim on his soul. Ian and Veritas hide their true selves from others but ultimately find they have more in common than their penchant for drinking blood and performing spells. Though her accent is inconsistent, Gilbert manages to embody Veritas. She exquisitely performs the tale with the right amount of emotion and suspense, keeping the listener engaged with the stories of both characters. A.L.S.M. © AudioFile 2019, Portland, Maine

The legions of fans for Frost's super popular, darkly twisted Night Huntress titles will be thrilled by the first book in her Night Rebel series. Four-thousand-year-old Veritas is a Law Guardian with deep secrets and more in a world of vampires, witches, and demons. Her lifelong goal is to defeat the powerful demon Dagon, and it looks like she may have a path to do it when she discovers debauched master vampire, Ian, who will make the perfect bait for her trap. Extricating Ian from a carnival-themed orgy, Veritas gets into a vampire, drugged-blood drinking contest, leading them to rescue sweet, little, winged and feathered, puppy-like Simargyl, the source of the blood, who becomes part of their family. Complications force them into pretending to be married, with further developments to come. Wild, magically enhanced sex and bloody, bone-pulverizing battles will keep readers turning the pages.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2018, American Library Association.)
